Cavanagh’s Stockmaster is a Livestock Transport Company primarily based in Tamworth, NSW, providing Livestock Transport throughout New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and South Australia, with over 30 years’ experience in the industry.

Responsibilities

We are seeking to employ an enthusiastic hands-on Trade Assistant / General Farm Hand willing to work along side our Diesel Mechanics / Boilermaker in a team environment, along with general Farm & Yard Operations

A trade assistants’ primary role is to support the Workshop Service Department through a non-technical role. Mechanically minded persons, or those who are generally interested in the Industry preferred but no prior experience necessary. Training will be provided & Apprenticeships are optional to successful interested applicants. School Leavers are encouraged to apply. Hours will be Monday to Friday, with the opportunity for Overtime for reliable candidates.

Duties may include

  • Primarily ; Assist Diesel Mechanics as required, in house workshop carry out Repairs & Maintenance to a large fleet of trucks
  • Basic General maintenance on company farm equipment
  • General Farm Hand duties
  • Operate Machinery
  • Maintaining of stockyards, fences, water troughs
  • Basic Yard & Workshop Maintenance

Car License necessary, opportunity to work towards HR licence available.

Qualifications & Experience

The successful applicant you will need to have good communication skills, a good work ethic and be able to take instructions. Reliability and punctuality are imperative. Applicants should be willing to improve their skills and knowledge and have an understanding of Safe Work Operations.
